Your vehicles engine and transmission cooling components are part of a critical vehicle system and any failures in this can be catastrophic if not attended to immediately.
Without your cooling system running properly, your vehicle could be rendered inoperable in minutes. JMK Auto Tire can help you keep your cooling system in tip top shape with regularly scheduled inspections and service. Flushing your coolant and replacing
It is highly recommended that you inspect your cooling system on a regular basis for things like leaks, corroded fittings, cracked or pinched hoses, clogged or obstructed fins on the radiator and adequate coolant levels. Doing these simple checks at regular intervals will help your car stay healthy and happy and help you avoid a costly engine or transmission overhaul.
Cooling System Components
Your cooling system has 4 main components
- Water Pump – This is the pump that circulates the coolant or water throughout the engine and tranmission, absorbing the heat generated by these devices and circulating it out to get cooled down
- Hoses – These are the main arteries in your engine bay between the engine and the radiator through which coolant travels. Over time, these tend to develop cracks and irregular bulges indicating that it is time to replace them.
- Radiator – This component actually removes the heat from the coolant as liquid passes through it’s channels. These are usually positioned at the very front of your vehicle and tend to collect dirt, debris and insects over time that can cause the radiator to function less efficiently so it is highly recommended that your radiator be cleaned of dirt and debris at regular intervals.
- Coolant – This is the fluid that cools your vehicles engine. Specially formulated to absorb heat from metal components and to not corrode metal parts, your vehicle should always have an ample supply of this.
